Block 90-150 minutes for a full-head colour, 2.5-3.5 hours for balayage and 2-4 hours for keratin — here is where the minutes go.
A full-head colour is a chain of timed stages: 20-30 minutes to lift, 30 minutes developing, 15-45 minutes processing, then a rinse, tone and dry. With application time on top, the appointment lands between 90 and 150 minutes, and the spread comes from the hair itself, not from the salon's pace.
The range exists because hair lifts unevenly from root to ends. That is why a strand test is checked every 10 minutes on a 5 x 5 cm (2 x 2 in) section before lightener goes on the whole head. Roots on a previously lightened base also take colour faster than virgin hair, which shortens some heads and complicates others.
Balayage and other freehand lightening take 2.5-3.5 hours. The product is painted on by hand rather than packed into foils, and the freehand placement is most of the bill in time terms. It is the longest single visit of the three main services.

A keratin or smoothing treatment takes 2-4 hours, and that figure already includes the wash, the treatment itself and a 10-15 minute blow-dry at the end. Nail services run on a different clock. The appointment is short compared with colour, but the interval is long: a full fingernail grows out in 4-6 months and a toenail in 9-18 months, and that growth is what sets how often a gel or shell manicure needs redoing.
